Arizona State (4-1, 1-1) takes care of business against Kansas (1-4, 0-3) to secure its first Big 12 Conference win in dramatic fashion.

In a 35-31 victory, Kenny Dillingham’s team showed poise, resiliency, and a fight that is showing up every single week so far.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Sam Leavitt had his best performance yet, throwing for four touchdowns. The best throw of the night was the game winner to Jordan Tyson with 16 seconds remaining.

Tyson caught the final two touchdowns after being responsible for two turnovers earlier in the game.

The turning point came near the end of the first half, when Dillingham called for a fake punt. Punter Kanyon Floyd threw a dart to Klayton Smith. The energy seemed to carry throughout the rest of the game for the offense.

Cam Skattebo had another 100+ yard performance, finishing with 186 on 25 carries. The Sun Devils rushed for 313 total yards.

The defense played well in big moments, but it wasn’t pretty. Keyshaun Elliot and Clayton Smith were both ejected for questionable targeting calls. Both Elliot and Smith will miss the first half against Utah next week because of the ejections for targeting.

The Big 12 has played the most one-score games among the power 4 schools since 2020. Buckle up for the rest of the season.
