Marissa Robidoux was diagnosed with cancer in her brain ahead of her fourth birthday and was declared cancer-free after back-to-back surgeries. Now, ahead of her tenth birthday, Marissa and her family got to visit Phoenix Raceway and meet Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Sheldon Creed, through their partnership with the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.
The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life for children battling pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers by pairing them with local teams, clubs and community groups. The Foundation is partnered with Joe Gibbs Racing throughout the NASCAR season and has also worked closely with Arizona State University for nearly a decade. The ASU spirit squad “adopted” Marissa almost a year ago and has been an active member of the spirit squad alongside being part of ASU’s Homecoming last year.
