ASU Adds Former Hawaii Offensive Joshua Atkins

Arizona Sports News online

The Sun Devils have prioritized the offensive line this offseason after multiple injuries limited what the offense could do in Kenny Dillingham’s first year in Tempe.

ASU has added two transfer portal and four prep interior offensive lineman in this class, and they were able to add a tackle on Friday in Joshua Atkins.

Atkins started his college career at Houston before transferring to Hawaii last year, where he was the team’s starting left tackle.

He has two years of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Atkins is from Arlington, Texas, a state that ASU’s staff, particularly Ra’Shaad Samples and Bryan Carrington, have been able to find success recruiting.

Atkins joins a group of tackles that includes Emmit Bohle, Max Iheanachor, Bram Walden and Sean Na’a. This was a group that had to play earlier than anticipated in the case of Na’a and Iheanachor. Some also had to play out of their natural position due to the plethora of injuries throughout the year.

Atkins will look to provide experience and stability within the tackle position.
