Arizona State’s season ended on Wednesday. The 12th-seeded Sun Devils lost to Iowa State in the second round of the Big 12 tournament.
The team that was picked last in the Big 12 ahead of the season ended the year above .500 at a 17-16 record. Iowa State was ready though, beating ASU 91-42.
Now, the questions swirl around the future of Arizona State’s men’s basketball program.
Bobby Hurley is in the final year of his contract, which expires this summer.
“It’s been a long road,” Hurley said. “It’s been a special time. Two of my kids graduated from ASU. I’ve had the opportunity to coach some fantastic young men. There’s been some terrific moments over the years.”
Hurley said in the post-game press conference that conversations with administration regarding his future have not happened.
He has been with the program for 11 years and compiled a 185-167 overall record.
“I don’t have any regrets,” Hurley said. “I laid it out on the line to the best that I could every night.”
