Arizona State men’s basketball went to Kansas City and kicked off the Big 12 tournament with a win over the Baylor Bears.
The Devils led by as much as 15 throughout the game and survived a late Baylor push. Arizon State came away with the final score of 83-79.
All five starters hit double-digits in scoring, along with Pig Johnson leading the Devils with 19 points on 7/14 scoring.
The Devils scored at a 57% rate and held Baylor to 24% from beyond the arc.
Arizona State will play the 5th-seeded Iowa State Cyclones, who are coming off a bye. The two teams played the regular season finale in Ames on Saturday, with the Cyclones winning by 21.
Graham Rossini and Bobby Hurley are expected to meet to discuss his future following ASU’s Big 12 Tournament conclusion, per a source.
His contract, which ends in June, may not be renewed. However, reports saying Hurley and ASU have already decided to part ways are premature.

There are reports out that Bobby Hurley and athletic director Graham Rossini will meet after the Big 12 tournament regarding Hurley’s future with the program. He is in the final year of his contract.
