One of the top 2013 high school basketball prospects in the nation, Aaron Gordon from San Jose, California, had Wildcat fans ecstatic about their future when he committed to them at the McDonalds All-American Game at the beginning of April.

On Wednesday, Arizona basketball head coach Sean Miller announced that he made it official as he signed his letter-of-intent.

“We are excited to welcome Aaron Gordon into our basketball family,” said Miller according to Arizona Athletics. “Aaron is the ultimate winner. He has won multiple California state championships, which speaks for itself. He is also a great teammate, incredibly unselfish, and a relentless competitor. His inclusion to a recruiting class that features Elliott Pitts, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, T.J. McConnell, and Matt Korcheck brings an exciting new cast to our 2013-14 roster.”

The 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward is ranked as the No. 3 overall recruit by rivals.com, and the No. 4 overall prospect in the Class of 2013 by espn.com. As a senior at Archbishop Mitty High School last season he averaged 21.6 points, 15.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.1 blocked shots per game. All in leading his team to a 28-6 record in 2012-13 and runner-up finish in the CIF Open Division championship after winning state titles in 2011 and 2012.

Gordon became just the 10th player in history to be named Cal-Hi Sports Mr. Basketball honors in consecutive seasons as a junior and senior. His accolades have continued after finishing his last game in a high school uniform as he was named the MVP of the McDonald’s All-American game after posting a stat line of 24 points, eight rebounds and two assists. He competed in the Jordan Brand Classic as well back on April 12th as well.
