Two of the gnarliest forms of sports collided on Wednesday at Firebird Motorsports Park. NHRA Drag Racing, wrangling a 12,000 horsepower nitro car at 330 mph, joined forces with High Limit Racing Sprint Cars, man-handling open wheel dirt cars sliding sideways wheel-to-wheel, at Firebird Motorsports Park.
Each series brought four drivers as an NHRA racer was paired up with a High Limit driver to take part in competitions at the Chandler drag strip. The NHRA drivers coached their sprint car pairing for bracket racing, reaction times, and a burnout competition to celebrate both series racing in the southeast valley this weekend.
High Limit Racing visits Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, March 19-21 for the Cactus Classic, while NHRA takes the strip at Firebird Motorsports Park in Chandler March 20-22. Drivers from both series will visit the other to take in racing action from both of these exciting series.
