Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner on UofA radar?

Arizona Sports News online

Could there be another quarterback coming to the University of Arizona football program?

Respected Arizona Daily Star Columnist Greg Hansen told me on Wednesday’s show he wouldn’t be surprised to see Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner show up in Tucson to reunite with Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez.

“I wouldn’t be surprised to see him, Rich Rod recruited him, I believe he graduated in the fall semester, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up in Arizona for one year.”

Gardner did not play for the Wolverines in their Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl loss to Kansas State last month in Tempe. He broke his left foot against Ohio State in November.

True freshman Shane Morris replaced Gardner in the bowl game and held his own, even though the Wolverines were crushed 31-14.

The Wildcats have a crowded quarterback room right now with as many as four players vying for the starting job vacated by B.J. Denker.

“I’d say right now it’s Anu Solomon from Las Vegas, he ran all of UofA stuff, they didn’t allow him to run scout team stuff in practice, that’s how serious they were about him taking over next year.”

The ‘Cats also have Texas transfer Conner Brewer, JUCO QB Jerrard Randall, and incoming freshman Brandon Dawkins out of Oaks Christian high school in Southern California.
