The Cardinals’ hopes of ending their playoff drought were dealt a serious blow on Saturday, losing at home in ugly fashion to the San Francisco 49ers 20-12. Kyler Murray was injured on the final offensive play of the game.
San Francisco kicker Robbie Gould missed a field goal and two extra points, otherwise, this game would’ve been decided much earlier.
Quarterback C.J. Beathard, making his first start in nearly two years, threw three touchdown passes in the victory, while Murray was injured on the final offensive play of the game.

With the loss, the Cardinals no longer control their own destiny to make the postseason. If the Chicago Bears win their final two games (Jacksonville, Green Bay), they would make the playoffs and the Cardinals would miss the postseason again.
Of course, the Cardinals would still have to win their season finale on the road against the LA Rams to have a chance at the postseason.
