Arizona WBB Using Win Over No. 4 Utah To Fuel Late Season Push

At this point in the season, wins are at a premium for each Pac-12 women’s basketball team. The top four spots in the conference get byes in next month’s Pac-12 tournament, and each victory adds a line on a team’s resumé as the postseason approaches.

No. 18 Arizona has plenty to be happy about on this season’s run so far, but a loss on the road against Utah – which came down to free throws with 1.5 seconds left – stuck with the team over the past few weeks.

Which is why Friday’s 82-72 win over the No. 4 Utes was all the more sweeter to Adia Barnes and co.

Shaina Pellington led the way with 35 points. That performance was all the more impressive since she was playing with an injured ankle in the second half. Cate Reese scored 16 points on 7/11 shooting from the field in a key Pac-12 win.

The Wildcats round out the weekend against No. 21 Colorado before going on the road to the Oregon schools to wrap up their regular season slate.
