Cardinals at 3, Deion vs Arizona State, Bochy and Mad Bum…

Arizona Sports News online

“With the third pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select Jalen Carter, defensive tackle, Georgia.”

I’m sure many would be tempted to go offense in April, but looking at the Cardinals’ draft position today, I’d take Carter or trade down to acquire extra picks. This isn’t a roster that is just a couple of players away from contending. Just because I’m a big fan personally of running back Bijan Robinson(Salpointe high school), doesn’t mean he’s the right pick for the Cardinals at #3. Too high of a spot to take an RB. Now, if they trade back and get a mid-first-round pick I’m looking at Robinson or former Saguaro star Keelee Ringo. Yes, two former Arizona high school football stars will likely be taken in the first round of this year’s draft…

Pittsburgh Steelers, three head coaches since 1969. Cardinals 15. Not going to get into playoff appearances or Super Bowls. You get the point…

Make me commissioner for a day, and Deion Sanders isn’t opening his Colorado coaching career at Tempe in late August. Instead, CU would meet Arizona State in Las Vegas with a 5pm PST kickoff on one of the major networks(not Pac-12, not FS1, etc).  In the best interest of putting this game on the biggest stage possible for the Pac-12, Vegas fits. Remember the buildup for Herm vs. Michigan State? I was in the stands that night, it was really miserable. This isn’t about winning, home-field advantage, and all of that stuff; this is about what’s in the best interest of a conference struggling to regain national attention. It’s just not that hard…

Figure out the NBA? Suns, with one starter, up 26 on a full-strength Warriors team. Suns turn the ball over 22 times. Suns win by 12. This is why there are very big buildings in Vegas…

Dario Saric with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists vs the Warriors. Thank you, sir. May I have another…

Remember Jae Crowder? Could he help the short-handed Suns right now? Sure. But why would I want him around the team if he doesn’t want to be here? Get everyone healthy by March, and let’s see what happens…

Just about a month till pitchers and catchers report, and I am feeling a sense of interest in the hometown nine. If you peel back 2022, the bullpen came in with matches and gasoline rather than a ball and glove far too often. I like the off-season moves up to now. Still need to see more help in the bullpen before Opening Day.

Bruce Bochy and Mad Bum had great success together in San Francisco. Getting them reunited in Texas would be a good move for both the player and the Diamondbacks…

Playing TPC Scottsdale today in a media event. Greenskeepers beware. #shallowgraves
