Flurry of Transfers Rolling in for Arizona State

Just a few days in to a new coaching staff, and Kenny Dillingham and co. have brought in multiple former Arizona high school football stars.

Tristan Monday and Krew Jackson announced their transfers in recent days to bolster a Sun Devil defense.

This afternoon, quarterback Jacob Conover announced he was reuniting with his old head coach Shaun Aguano and was coming to Tempe.

Shortly after that, Conover’s Chandler teammate DeCarlos Brooks announced his transfer from Cal to Arizona State. The running back tallied over 3,800 rushing yards and 51 rushing touchdowns in three years at Chandler. Arizona State assistant head coach Charlie Ragle recruited Brooks to Cal in the class of 2019. He will have two years of eligibilty.

ASU also addressed the special teams unit with New Mexico State punter Josh Carlson, who prepped at Gilbert High School, transferring in. Carlson is a 2018 All-American and will look to replace All-Pac-12 selection Eddie Czaplicki, who entered the portal on Tuesday.

The Sun Devils had two long snappers enter the portal recently, and former Cal long snapper Slater Zellers is coming home as well. Zellers was an Under Armour All-American at Notre Dame Prep and will reunite with Ragle in Tempe.
