REPORT: ASU Finalizing Deal To Make Kenny Dillingham Head Coach

Just over 24 hours after the Arizona State Sun Devils wrapped up their 2022 football season, Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger was first to report the team is finalizing a deal that will name Kenny Dillingham its next head coach.

The Scottsdale native and Chaparral Firebird alum got his coaching start under current Idaho State head coach Charlie Ragle at the high school.

Dillingham is also an Arizona State alumnus and served as a grad assistant under Todd Graham in the 2014 and 2015 season.

Dillingham joined Mike Norvell in Memphis from 2016-2018 and eventually rose to the role of offensive coordinator. He became the offensive coordinator at Auburn under Gus Malzahn before returning to Norvell at Florida State in 2020.

Dillingham is in his first season as offensive coordinator at Oregon under head coach Dan Lanning. The Ducks have the third-best offense in the nation, posting over 511 yards per game.

The 32 year old will be the youngest head coach in the Power 5 ranks.

Dillingham proved to be an effective recruiter at all stops in his coaching career and will look to rebuild the Arizona State roster quickly ahead of early signing day and through the transfer portal.
