Arizona Using “24 Minutes” to Move On From WSU Loss to Territorial Cup

Jedd Fisch usually has a 24-hour rule when it comes to processing games.

After the Wildcats’ 31-20 loss to Washingotn State on Saturday, he moved the timeline up to 24 minutes as Arizona prepares for the Territorial Cup.

After upsetting UCLA last week, the Wildcats had an opportunity for bowl eligibility if it won out the rest of the year. That opportunity is not on the table anymore, but it could be the first time the ‘Cats have possession of the Territorial Cup since 2016 if they win on Friday.

In six days, Arizona has plenty to get right. The high-powered offense struggled. Jayden de Laura threw four interceptions with miscommunication at the source of a few of them. The defense was solid but tired out.

With Arizona State on the receiveing end of a 31-7 loss to Oregon State, this year’s Territorial Cup winner could come down to who can turn the page the quickest and iron out the issues.

With neither team heading to the postseason, Friday will be the only opportunity to end the season on a high note.
