Liberty’s My’Keil Gardner Breaks Down Oregon Ducks Commitment

Another Arizona high school football player is headed off to Eugene, Oregon to join the Oregon Ducks. My’Keil Gardner committed to Oregon on Aug. 3rd after weighing a handful of options. The number “3” is My’Keils lucky number so it was only fitting that he would commit to his school of choice on his favorite day of the month.

My’Keil took several visits to Eugene and said it was the relationship with the coaches that kept drawing him back to the Ducks.

“Every time I went back on campus it just got better from there,” Gardner said. “The coaches, ever since they offered me, anytime they’re able to I talk to the coaches.”

“The coaches really like my versatility and the fact that I can play along the D-line anywhere,” Gardner said. “Really wherever they see me fit, I’m willing to play.”

The Liberty defensive lineman said that he would hear from the coaches at Oregon at least three times per week since receiving his offer in January. My’Keil made several unofficial visits to Oregon and was immediately impressed by their facilities, players, and staff. Now with his decision behind him, My’Keil is looking forward to playing one last season of high school football with the Liberty Lions.
