A year removed from a national championship game appearance, the Arizona women’s basketball team is back in the women’s NCAA tournament. Tucson will play host for the first two rounds of women’s NCAA tournament and the No. 4 Wildcats will take on UNLV in the first round on Saturday.
Adia Barnes and co. finished the 2021-22 regular season fourth in the Pac-12 and posting a 20-7 overall record. The Cats lost their game to Colorado in the Pac-12 tournament quarterfinals 45-43. Arizona was ranked fourth in the Pac-12.
With extra time off, it seems as though the Wildcats could be getting healthy at the right time. Barnes hinted on Twitter that All-Pac-12 forward Cate Reese is ready to return for the tournament. Reese has not played since February 20th when she suffered a shoulder injury.
