The 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive lineman started every game for the Aztecs in 2021 at left guard. In 2020, he started four of the Aztecs’ eight games in the COVID shortened season.
Martinez was in the class of 2017 and held offers from the Aztecs, Arizona, Colorado, Fresno State, San Jose State, Hawaii and Nevada. He entered the transfer portal on December 8 and received offers from Sacramento State, Fresno State and the Sun Devils.
Arizona State is in dire need of offensive line talent and experience after Kellen Diesch and Henry Hattis have run out of eligibility and Dohnovan West entered the NFL draft.
Martinez should help in that regard and have one year of eligibility remaining.
