The Suns set a new franchise record with its 18th straight win tonight, beating the Pistons 114-103. With a 19-3 record Phoenix is atop the league standings alone.

The bench did more than its fair share, scoring 48 points. Cam Payne led the charge with 19 points, including 15 in the first half. JaVale McGee showcased his high motor, cleaning up misses on the offensive boards and making things difficult in the paint for Detroit.

Landry Shamet started in place of the injured Devin Booker. Shamet hit an early three to get the Suns on track. The 0.5 guard also hit the dagger late. He finished with 14 points on 5-11 shooting.

The Pistons went on a 17-0 run in the third quarter to bring the game within one point. However, the Suns regained control near the end of the third and never looked back.

Next up is a rematch with the Golden State Warriors tomorrow at the Chase Center. For those that are curious, the longest winning streak in NBA history is 33.
