ASU running back DeaMonte Trayanum has entered the transfer portal, per multiple reports.

“Chip” Trayanum made an instant impact as a freshman in the shortened 2020 season. In four games, he rushed for 290 yards and four touchdowns in his debut season.

In 2021, he appeared in nine games and missed three contests due to injury. He rushed for 402 yards on 78 carries and six touchdowns.

Toward the end of the season, Rachaad White had carved out a significant chunk of the carries from the backfield. In the last four games of 2021, White received 96 carries, while Trayanum had 18 touches.

The class of 2020 back chose the Sun Devils over the likes of Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin when he was a four-star recruit out of Akron, Ohio.

As it stands now, sophomore Daniyel Ngata is the team’s top returning running back, where he tallied 286 yards and three touchdowns.
