Kyler, Hopkins Need to Sit, Havoc’s Coming to ASU, QC can get Chandler…

Are Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins going to be on the football field in Chicago on Sunday December 5th? That is the question that I have. I need them healthy for the stretch run after the bye week. The NFL season is too long for the players. The game is too violent to avoid injury. The League is a war of attrition and right now, thanks to the Rams dropping two in a row, the Cardinals haven’t lost any ground in the NFC West even with their offensive stars on the shelf. Results like the Buccaneers losing to the WFT, The Rams looking like Lambs in SF, and the Cardinals getting run over at home are a byproduct of the dog days of a long season. The players have been in car crashes for 10 straight weeks, the bye can’t get here soon enough. If Hopkins and Murray aren’t near 100%, no reason to play them Sunday at Seattle…

One day, Chris Paul will make a hell of a good head coach in the NBA…

So much for those who went with the “Suns will be distracted by the Robert Sarver story”. Nine wins in a row (it will extend to ten tonight after the Luca-less Mavericks are disposed of). Some early season intrigue next week when they play at Brooklyn and two night later at home against Golden State…

Diamondbacks are 1-0 in the offseason by getting Houston Astros pitching coach Brent Strom to jump over…

Coming up on the Arizona State vs Grand Canyon University basketball game in a few weeks (December 9th). I’m guessing that the amount of purple-clad fans and students at Desert Financial Arena, will fill at least half of the arena. On the court, you have the return of former Sun Devil players  Holland Woods and Taeshon Cherry who are on the Lopes roster. For those of us who are basketball enthusiasts, this is the kind of game that our community wants and needs…

Bob Costas joined me on Tuesday’s show. Went to the wayyyyback machine on a book he gave me 20 years ago.

The schedule recently came out of the always popular Visit Mesa (14th year) Basketball Challenge at Mesa Mountain View high school. Game two on December 20th has Perry vs Corona Del Sol. This game should be dubbed the “Sammy Duane Challenge”. The legendary coach of Perry against his former Aztecs squad at CDS. Here’s all of the games and information. http://www.mesasports.org/visit_mesa_basketball/

Heading to Corvallis, Oregon for the Sun Devils vs Oregon State football game Saturday night. For all of the complaining about playing the Beavers in the late time slot(8:30MT kickoff), perhaps winning some games earlier in the season to make the matchup more compelling should be the focus. Same goes for the Territorial Cup being played Saturday afternoon at 2pm on Pac-12 Network. When you’re consistently in the middle of the pack, you’re not going to get the best TV time slots on the best networks…

Here’s the stat for Saturday night with an expected temperature of 39 degrees at kickoff, dropping down to 34 degrees, The Sun Devils have turned the ball over 20 times, five more than the Beavers’ takeaways (15)…

Recently screened the Kurt Warner biopic, “American Underdog”. It opens Christmas day. More to come…

If Chandler doesn’t fix their offensive line issues (allowed 10 sacks to Hamilton) Queen Creek can get them. Seen the Bulldogs a couple of times. Yes, Chandler has more individual talent across the board, but the pourus offensive line play can not continue if the Wolves are going to make another state title run…

Brophy went winless a season ago. Jason Jewell should get more than a few Coach of the Year votes. Same goes for Joe Ortiz at Cactus…

Player of the year right now would have to be Hamilton quarterback Nicco Marchiol

Running back of the year is wiidddeeee open…

Staff has a new documentary that we will be dropping in December. Details to come…
