Prior to the 2021 season, the Basha Bears were garnering boat loads of hype.
They are living up to the hype, finishing the regular season 10-0. The 6A Central Region champions have bigger ambitions. The Open Division playoffs are a guarantee at this point and they want a title.
That especially holds true for Cole Martin and Deshaun Buchanan. Both transferred from Hamilton, where they lost to Chandler in the championship last year.
“Losing the championship last year, that’s a lot of pain,” Martin said. “That’s something I’ve never felt before. It was something crazy and it’s something I’m never going to forget.”
The Bears will have two consecutive bye weeks, because the Open Division playoffs don’t begin until November 19.
