Every time the Nuggets were grooving on offense, the Suns answered with its own heat, burning them 116-102 commanding a 3-0 series lead. Listed as underdogs, they showcased a bark. The magic number for a ring is 9.

A 37 point 1st quarter set the tone, with Denver’s defense struggling to make any shot uncomfortable for Phoenix. The Suns finished shooting 53.1 percent from the field and 46.1 percent from three.

Devin Booker led the charge with 28 points six rebounds and 4 assists. Monty Williams couldn’t have drawn it up any better.

“We’re playing with a great deal of energy and force,” Williams said. “We played with a relentless attitude tonight, that’s who we are.”

This all came on the night when Nikola Jokic received his MVP trophy for the 2020-21 regular season. He played well with 32 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists. He earned a technical foul after showing frustration with 6 minutes left in the game. Maybe stemming from his teammates not stepping up when they need to.

The rest of the starting cast for Phoenix combined for 85 points. Energy was glistening off the bench as well.

Passing was the name of the game, with the Suns assisting on 26 of 43 made shots.

Game 4 is in Denver on Sunday at 5 p.m. PST. The brooms are in the locker of the Suns, four more quarters and they could be using them at altitude.
