Sports360AZWhen new uniforms are released, whether the team is good or not, people have an opinion on the new merchandise. Sunday morning the team unveiled their Nike MLB City Connect Series uniforms.
The team announced that the collaboration with Nike was put together to highlight the franchise’s desert roots, the state’s Hispanic culture, and the bond between the team and its fans. If you notice the colors bring forward the Sonoran desert and utilize the term “Serpientes” – a Spanish translation of snakes – winding across the chest. There is also patches of the Arizona state flag and a nod to Phoenix’s moniker, The Valley of the Sun.
The MLB City Connect Series uniforms will be worn for the first time in a game on Friday, June 18th along with various times through the season and during Hispanic Heritage Weekend Sept. 24th – 26th
