It’s been a long time since the Phoenix Suns have seen postseason basketball. However, for the first time in a long time, there is optimism surrounding the playoffs.
With a 109-101 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night, the Suns clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2010. It snapped the second longest postseason drought in the NBA.
Devin Booker had 21 points, and Chris Paul dropped in 28 points and 10 assists while M-V-P chants reigned over him in a small, but loud crowd at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
With 10 games to play, Phoenix sits as the No. 2 seed in the west with a 44-18 record and they are just one game back of the Utah Jazz for the top-seed. The long hiatus is finally OVER.
