It seems as though Arizona is in a potential golden age of high school tight ends.
The next few classes are full of talented, big and agile targets that have college coaches honing in on the state to find the next mismatch nightmare.
One of those tight ends in the 2022 class is Hamilton’s Michael Masunas.
Masunas was a key part of the Hamilton passing game last year and was able to set the edge for the potent Husky rushing attack.
On the recruiting end of things, the 6-foot-5, 240-pound Masunas holds offers from NAU, New Mexico, Penn, Florida State, Air Force, San Diego State, Army, Maryland, UNLV.
Some programs that jump out to Masunas right now is San Diego State, Air Force and Maryland, but he’s still considering all options.
In between the recording and posting of this interview, Masunas also added an offer from Arizona. This is a bit of a hometown offer as Masunas started his high school career at Sabino High School in Southern Arizona and his family has attended the university.
“It’s huge for sure,” Masunas said over a message. “I grew up going to football and basketball games there. My mom is an undergrad and law school alumna, and it means a lot for the University of Arizona to give me an offer.”
