Chaparral’s Anthony Lucas Taking Busy Recruitment In Stride

Editor’s note: this interview was done prior to Chaparral’s preseason scrimmage. Shortly after that interview, Chaparral was forced to self-quarantine after there were positive tests for coronavirus on the roster.

Chaparral defensive lineman Anthony Lucas has been one of the most recruited players in Arizona over the past few years.

In an offseason where he’s focused on getting bigger and conditioning on the basketball court, he now stands at 6-foot-5, 285 pounds and has heard from some of the top programs in the country.

Since the summer hit, Lucas has added the likes of Texas, Penn State, Michigan State, Notre Dame and UCLA to his already impressive offer list.

While the Firebirds have yet to take to field due to the coronavirus, Lucas is eager to build upon his sophomore campaign where he tallied 29 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and six sacks.

He recaps his recent recruitment, a potential timeline and a few programs that are recruiting him hardest on this edition of the Recruiting Roundup.
