I Never Root for Teams

More often than not, the AFC and NFC Title games are USUALLY(not always) better games than the Super Bowl itself. One game away from the Super Bowl for the 49ers, Packers, Titans, and Chiefs and their respective fanbases. I don’t have a favorite team, I don’t root for a specific  team. I do like watching certain players. Joe Staley has been one of the better at his position for many years in San Fran. I covered 49er GM John Lynch back in his high school and college days. However, Aaron Rodgers is a HOF QB, Blake Martinez has been a big part of the Packers resurgent defense(only allowing on average of 3 20-yard plays per game to opposition over last 5 games) .  Rooting for a certain team to win in a position of being on-air talent just isn’t acceptable to me. Picking a team to win doesn’t mean I’m rooting for them. . Yes, there are those who do host shows and segments on national platforms who openly root. That’s their choice. I’m surprised a network doesn’t step in and say “stop it”. But the lines have become very blurred in terms of journalistic integrity and being “fanboy” in my opinion. Agree or disagree, it’s fine by me…
