Competitive Esports League Coming to Arizona High Schools

As high school sports continue to evolve, the Arizona Interscholastic Association is taking the plunge in offering
Esports competitions starting this Spring.
“With the continued growth of esports nationwide, we wanted to create a structured format for high school students to compete for a state championship in Arizona, no different than any other sport or activity,” said Brian Bolitho, Director of Business Development for the Arizona Interscholastic Association.
Overwatch, will be the first game that students on the esports teams will be paying. Teams will be made up of six players. Winners will be crowned state champions.
