GCU’s Jake Wong drafted 80th overall by Giants

GCU pitcher Jake Wong was drafted by the San Fransisco Giants at the No. 80 overall pick in the third round of the MLB Draft on Tuesday.

Wong is the highest draft pick out of GCU since Lopes legend Tim Salmon was drafted 69th overall by the Angels in 1989. He is the highest pick from the Western Athletic Conference since Dallas Baptist pitcher Jake Johansen was drafted in the second round at the No. 68th overall pick in 2013.
