When you’re the most polarizing basketball player on the planet everyone has an opinion of you. Some good, some bad but none indifferent. His supporters will continue to build him up while his critics tear him down.
Few know James like Eddie House. Arizona State’s all-time leading scorer who’s number was retired at Wells Fargo Arena earlier this year is former teammate of James with the Miami Heat. He says LBJ (and his inner circle of friends/business associates) were well aware of his critics who dogged him after “Cramp Gate” in Game 1 of the NBA Finals when the AT&T Center was without air conditioning and James left the game in the fourth quarter with severe cramping.
He responded in a Game 2 win with 35 points and 10 rebounds and followed it up with 22 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals in Miami’s lopsided Game 3 loss.
“Nobody’s going to stop LeBron,” House explained to Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat in a recent phone interview. “That’s just how the league is…that’s why he’s the best in the world.”
House has seen James mature both on the court and off since he burst on the NBA scene as the number one overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers back in 2003.
“I think it’s a great thing to see him come from being an 18-year-old kid,” House told Cesmat. “Getting to the finals a few years after he’s been in the league and losing one and then becoming the player he is now. Not only the player but the person at the same time.”
James has taken so time to himself to re-focus seeing a movie during some down time in San Antonio and even attending a yoga class at the team hotel last weekend.
