White Mtn. Football Report Sept. 1st 2013

Show Low and Blue Ridge both had a rough Labor Day weekend.
The Jackets lost at Prescott, while the Cougars took one on the chin by Williams Field.
Blue Ridge ran into an emotional environment at Prescott High School. It was the first high school football game played since the tragic death of the 19 hotshot firefighters over the summer. On the field, the Yellow Jackets couldn’t contain Prescott tailback Kaine Bayeze who rushed for 239 yards and scored twice in the Badgers 30-14 upset of Blue Ridge at Bill Shepard Field in Prescott.
It was the first regular season loss for Blue Ridge since 2008.
Show Low lost to Williams Field 16-7 on Friday night. The game was moved to Round Valley Dome in Eager because of bad weather.
Next up, the Cougars travel down to the Valley to take on the Tempe Prep Knights, a team that was shut out in their opener at Yuma Catholic 24-0.
Holbrook High ran into a buzz saw on Friday night, losing to the Winslow Bulldogs 47-0. Winslow running back Kelly Wood ran for 183 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.
