1-on-1 with ASU Offensive Coordinator Marcus Arroyo

New ASU offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo brings a wealth of experience to Tempe as the Sun Devils look to become more explosive in 2023.

Arroyo was a top assistant at Oregon, helping quarterback Justin Herbert become one of the nation’s best quarterbacks. He was also the head coach of UNLV for two years in the 2021 & 2022 seasons. The Rebels just came off a 9-5 record under Barry Odom, but Arroyo’s fingerprints were still on the program that featured multiple players he recruited.

In his year away from the field, his first in about 20 years, Arroyo was able to be more present as a father. He also was intentional with the year he had, visiting about 15 teams throughout the year, visiting with his fellow offensive minds and reflecting on how he can get the most out of his offensive scheme.

He comes to Tempe ready to take those lessons and meld his idea with head coach Kenny Dillingham.

Arroyo went 1-on-1 with Sports360AZ on what this ASU offense can be, his year away from the sideline and his thoughts on his long-time friend Brent Brennan getting the Arizona job.
